Our Farm
Bravo Steaks was built on a simple belief: you should know where your food comes from and the people who raise it.
After returning home to North Carolina in 2016, we decided to stop waiting for the "perfect" time to build our dream farm. We started with a small herd (4 cows!), a lot of determination, and a commitment to raising cattle the right way. Over the years, that dream has grown into both Bravo Cattle, our seedstock operation, and Bravo Steaks, where we proudly offer premium dry aged beef, Berkshire pork, and local lamb directly to families across the USA. We ship frozen meat nationwide and also offer pickup on the farm options.
Farm Land
As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” and neither was our farm. We got our start by renting land from retiring farmers and families who no longer wanted, or were no longer able, to care for their farms. At one point, we were managing cattle across 10 small, rented farms as we worked to grow our herd and expand our land base! It wasn't always the easiest path, but every pasture was another opportunity to pursue the dream and grow bit by bit.
Over the years, our farm has moved to different parts of the Carolinas as new opportunities opened along the way. Today, we're proud to call Rockingham County, North Carolina, home. We continue to rent pasture while also investing in a farm of our own, finally putting down roots in a property that's becoming our long-term home through a labor of love.
Our farm is currently undergoing a major transformation. Once managed as a pine plantation, we're restoring the land back to productive pasture for livestock. It's a long-term project. If you'd like to follow along, we invite you to read about the journey on our Substack, The Ewe Turn, where we share the successes, setbacks, and realities of a farm renovation.
Farm Animals
Our farm began with Angus cattle, and they remain the heart of our operation today. We raise both registered purebred Angus cattle and Angus-based commercial cattle, focusing on genetics, animal care, and producing exceptional beef. In 2018, we added Berkshire hogs, a heritage breed known for its outstanding flavor and marbling. Then, in 2024, we added hairsheep to our farm. In addition to producing exceptional lamb, our sheep play an important role in grazing our pastures and helping us manage for the land through grazing.
Each species has a unique purpose on our farm, but all are raised with the same commitment to responsible stewardship, animal husbandry, and producing high-quality meats we're proud to share with your family.
Farm Values
Every animal on our farm is raised with care and respect. We’re personally involved in every step, from breeding decisions and daily husbandry to finishing and marketing our meats, so we know exactly how our animals are raised.
We believe exceptional meat starts long before it reaches your kitchen. From carefully planned breeding decisions and year-round animal care (winter, spring, summer, and fall!) to responsible land stewardship and a commitment to doing the little things right, every choice we make is driven by a single goal: producing outstanding protein that we're proud to serve at our own table and yours.
When you choose Bravo Steaks, you're choosing more than locally raised beef. You're supporting a North Carolina family farm that values transparency, integrity, and producing food with purpose.
