Steak Fajitas

Enjoy delicious fajitas at home with Bravo Steaks and the perfect carne asada seasoning blend. Fajitas are easy, fresh, and fully customizable to your preferences.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Bravo Steaks sirloin for stirfry aka fajita strips

  • 1 tablespoon carne asada seasoning or fajita seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons oil

  • 2 onions, sliced into rings

  • 3 bell peppers, sliced into strips

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Tortillas

  • Optional garnishes: Fresh lime wedges, sour cream, fresh pico de gallo, guacamole

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Generously sprinkle the carne asada seasoning all over the sirloin stirfry strips, mixing thoroughly.

  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet until the oil is rippling hot. Place the sliced steak strips into the skillet. Cook over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes undisturbed, allowing them to sear. Flip the strips and cook until your desired doneness. This usually takes just 3-5 more minutes.

  3. Remove the steak strips from the hot skillet and place on a plate. Leave any drippings from the steak in the skillet - they will add great flavor to the onions + peppers! Cover the plate of beef with a tent of aluminum foil while you prepare the onions + peppers.

  4. Add 1 additional tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Add onions, peppers, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

  5. Cook over medium-high heat for 4-6 minutes, allowing vegetables to sear. If you like the onions and peppers to be softer, you may want to cook for additional 3-5 minutes.

  6. Add the cooked steak and any accumulated juices back into the skillet and toss gently to blend.

  7. Serve with tortillas, fresh lime wedges, sour cream, pico de gallo, and guacamole!

NOTES

Consider adding other fresh veggies to the fajitas in step 5 -- sometimes we add diced zucchini, corn, chopped tomatoes, spinach, or broccoli.
